Objective
In Rummy card game players are supposed to discard all their cards by making melds which are sequences of 3 or more cards in same suit, or 3 or 4 cards of same rank. The game is played with a standard 52 card deck.
Setup
PLAYER - At the begining the two players are dealt 10 cards each. The players can see their own cards.
WASTE - One card is dealt face-up to the waste pile.
STOCK - Remaining cards are set aside forming a stock pile.
MELD AREA - Six emply piles which can be used to create melds. Since melds are made with at least 3 or more cards, in two player game a maximum of 6 melds can be created; 3 by each player.
Gameplay
- Cards are ranked from Ace to King sequence being A 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 J Q K.
- The sequence of each player turn is as follows:
- To start a turn player needs to pick one card either from the waste pile which is face-up or from the stock pile whose top card is face-down.
- After picking one card player can now discard cards in the meld area if a meld can be created.
- Player can then conclude his/her turn by discarding one card face-up onto the waste pile.
This sequnece is followed by each player until one player has no card left.

Cards can be removed by the player in one of the following ways:
- Melding - Place 3 or more cards either in same suit sequence or a group of same rank cards in one of the empty meld piles.
- Laying off - Add one or more cards to an existing meld if it follows the same sequence for a sequence meld (same-suit), or same rank for a group meld (same-rank).
- Discarding - Discard one card to the waste pile to conclude current turn and pass the turn to the next player.
- Any number of melds can be created in one turn. Similarly any number of cards can be laid off in one turn.
- If player picks a card from the waste pile, it can only be discarded in the next turn.
- Once all cards from the stock pile are finished, all cards in the waste pile except the top card are moved to the stock pile without shuffling.
- The game ends as soon as any player has thrown all of his/her cards by using one of the three methods of melding, laying off or discarding
