Fortress Solitaire

Objective

Fortress solitaire is a member of castle family of solitaire games. The objective of Fortress Solitaire is to build all four suits up from Ace to King using a standard 52-card deck.

Setup

TABLEAU - Player is dealt all 52 cards face-up into ten piles; 6 cards each to first and last pile and 5 cards each to remaining piles.

FOUNDATION - Four empty foundation piles.

Gameplay

  • The tableau piles are built up or down by suit. Only top card of a tableau pile is available to play to another tableau pile or a foundation pile.
  • Card ranks are not continuous so an Ace can not be played on a King or, a King can not be played on an Ace.
  • An empty tableau pile can be filled by any card.
  • As Aces become available, it can be played onto the foundation and then built-up by suit from Ace to King.
  • Moving cards from the foundation to the tableau is not allowed.

The game ends once all cards are moved onto the foundation piles.

Controls

  • Drag and drop cards between piles.
  • Double click top card in any of the tableau piles to automatically move to the foundation.
