Objective
The aim of Eight Off Solitaire is to build all four suits up from Ace to King using a standard 52-card deck.
Setup
TABLEAU - At the begining player is dealt all 48 cards face-up into eight piles each pile containing 8 cards. This set of piles is known as the tableau.
FOUNDATION - Four empty foundation piles.
CELLS - Eight cells. First four cells contain remaining 4 cards from the dealer deck, one card each. Remaining four cells are empty.
Gameplay
- On the tableau, cards are played in descending order, same suit.
- An empty pile in the tableau can be filled with any card regardless of its rank or suit.
- Foundation piles can contain cards starting from Ace so as Aces become available, it can be placed in one of the foundation piles. Cards of the same suit may be played on each Ace in ascending order, from low (2) to high (King).
- Eight cells can be used to place one card at any time regardless of its rank or suit if it is empty.
- Card from any cell can be played onto the tableau or a foundation pile..
- Only top card of any of the eight tableau piles is available to be moved to another tableau pile, or an empty cell, or an empty tableau, or a foundation.
- Once a card is played to the foundation it can not be moved back to the tableau or a cell.
The game ends once all cards are moved onto the foundation piles.
Controls
- Drag and drop cards between piles.
- Double click top card in any of the tableau piles to automatically move to an empty cell.
