Objective
The aim of Crazy Quilt Solitaire is to move all cards to the foundation. The game is played using two standard 52-card decks. Four foundation piles are to be built up from Ace to King while the remaining four foundation piles are to be built down from King to Ace.
Setup
FOUNDATION - At the begining four foundation piles are dealt Aces of four different suits and remaining four foundation piles are dealt Kings of four different suits.
RESERVE/QUILT - After dealing cards to the foundation piles, player is dealt 64 cards face-up which are arranged in such a way to resemble a quilt. This pile makes up a reserve. Not all cards in the reserve/quilt are available for play.
STOCK - After dealing cards to the player, remaining cards are set aside forming a stock pile.
WASTE - An empty waste pile.
Gameplay
- Only a card in the the reserve/quilt which has at least one of shorter side free (meaning not surrounded by other cards), is available to play.
- Cards from the reserve/quilt can be played onto either the waste pile or any of the foundation piles.
- Foundation piles which contain Aces are played by suit in ascending order (Ace to King).
- Foundation piles which contain Kings are played by suit in descending order (King to Ace).
- Card from the reserve/quilt can be played to the waste pile if it is either one rank higher or one rank lower than the top card in the waste pile.
- Player can click on the stock pile anytime which deals 1 card face-up onto the waste pile. 2 redeals are allowed so when all cards from the stock pile are moved to the waste pile, it can be moved back to the stock pile by clicking on empty stock pile.
- Once a card is played to the foundation it can not be moved back to the reserve/quilt or the waste pile.
The game is won once all cards are moved onto the foundation piles.
Controls
- Drag and drop cards between piles.
