Objective
In Crazy Eights card game players are required to get rid of all their cards to the waste pile before their opponents do. The game is played with a standard 52 card deck.
Setup
PLAYER - At the begining the two players are dealt 7 cards each. The players can see their own cards.
WASTE - One card is dealt face-up onto the waste pile. The card can not be an Eight. If the card dealt to the waste pile is an Eight then the card is again mixed in the deck and shuffled and then one card is again dealt face-up onto the waste pile. This will continue until the first card dealt to the waste pile is not an Eight.
STOCK - Remaining cards are set aside forming a stock pile.
Gameplay
- In each turn player is supposed to discard one card. If player has no matching card to discard, he/she must pick cards from the stock pile one at a time until he/she gets a card which can be discarded to the waste pile which must be immediately discarded.
- Player can not pick a card from the stock pile if he/she has a matching card which can be discarded to the waste pile.
- Player can discard a card only if it matches either the rank or the suit of the top card in the waste pile or its an Eight. Current suit in the play can be different if an Eight was discarded in the previous turn and different suit was called out.
- Eight can be played any time and after discarding an Eight player must select next suit which should be used to match cards for discarding in the waste pile.
- Once all cards in the stock pile are finished, all cards in the waste pile except the top card are moved to the stock pile and shuffled once.
The game ends as soon as any player has discarded all of his/her cards.
