Objective
The objective of Blockade Solitaire is to move all cards from the tableau to the foundations. Blockade Solitaire is a type of Patience game which is played with two standard 52 card decks.
Setup
TABLEAU - At the begining player is dealt 12 cards face-up onto twelve piles each pile containing one card. This set of piles is known as the tableau.
STOCK - After dealing cards to the tableau, remaining cards are set aside forming a stock pile.
FOUNDATION - Eight empty foundation piles.
Gameplay
- The tableau piles are built down by suit.
- Top card of a tableau pile can be moved to another tableau pile or to the foundation. In-suit sequences can be moved together from one tableau pile to another tableau pile.
- An empty tableau pile can have any card regardless of its rank. An in-suit sequence of cards can also be moved to an empty tableau pile.
- Foundation piles are built up by suit (from Ace to King). As soon as an Ace becomes available, it can be played onto any of the empty foundation piles and then can be built up by suit.
- Player can click on the stock pile anytime which deals cards from the stock pile to the tableau. If there are empty tableau piles, it only deals one card each to the empty tableau piles. If there is no empty tableau pile, then it deals one card each to all tableau piles.
- Player can also complete an in-suit sequence in the tableau (King to Ace), which is automatically moved to an empty foundation.
- Moving cards from the foundation to the tableau is not allowed.
The game ends once all cards are moved to the foundation piles.
Controls
